Alpine Pond Hike

A short hike through the alpine and sub-alpine terrain at the top of the canyon. In the middle, there is a small pond (appropriately named Alpine Pond). The trail goes from one turn out to the next. Jim did not hike with us (due to a small foot incident on the hike to the canyon view in Zion) so he drove and we only had to walk one way.
Bristlecone pine. They only grow at very high elevations (above 10,000 feet). We have seen these before in Great Basin, Nevada. Those were windblown and twisted into crazy shapes. These look like normal trees.

It was fun to see snow up here. And we were grateful that someone shoveled a path for us!

Sam was our trail guide.

More snow = snowball fights!

Alpine Pond. It was very green!
