Cedar Breaks looks a lot like Bryce canyon, only higher! The road climbs above 10,000 feet and stays there as it follows the rim of the canyon. As you drive it feels like a high alpine forest (with the addition of bristlecone pines), but as soon as you look over the edge you realize you are in Utah canyon country. This area is littered with cinder cones and huge mountains of lava rock, then the part that has fallen away reveals brilliant reds and oranges complete with hoodoos, arches, and caves. You can't hike into the canyon, but there are several lookouts along the edge.
