As we adventured for the rest of our day we laughed about the directionally challenged travelers and wondered about them getting to their destination... we gave them a 50/50 shot.

Where is Zion National Park?
We were enjoying the view Lava Point and commenting about how remote we were. 35 miles from Springdale up a winding road (with a 5mph switchback and several other precarious curves) and then a few miles on dirt. We had not seen another vehicle for quite some time. We heard someone pull up and thought there was another crazy exploring family. Nope- a guy approached up and asked if we knew how to get to Zion National Park. Ummm... technically we were in it, but not the part he was looking for. 35 miles off. Turns out he and three others were traveling in a mid-sized RV and following GPS. Clearly, their crew is directionally challenged and new to the RV thing. We gave them directions and a picture of the map. If they had a map they would also have seen the warnings not to take large vehicles on those roads. Once again- paper maps rule the day!
